Our History
St. Michael’s Academy was envisioned and established under the aegis of the St. Michaels Educational & Welfare Society to provide quality English-medium education in Bettiah and surrounding areas. Official records show the school’s affiliation number with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) as 330174. According to educational-board documentation, the institution’s “first opening” is listed as 1 April 2000. Over time, responding to growing demand and community trust, the school gradually expanded its classes and facilities to evolve from a small preparatory setup into a full-fledged senior secondary school offering classes up to +2 level under CBSE curriculum. Geographically, the school is located in the village Mehandiyabari, Chhawani, P.O. Bettiah, in West Champaran district of Bihar — PIN 845438. Over the years, its campus has expanded and modernized: what began modestly now spans several acres and features modern infrastructure including smart classrooms, computer labs, science labs, and facilities for co-curricular and sports activities. The school has always aimed to be inclusive: students are admitted irrespective of religion, caste, creed, or socio-economic background. This inclusive philosophy, combined with academic rigor and modern amenities, helped the institution build a reputation for quality education in the region. Under the stewardship of its management society, the Academy placed strong emphasis on qualified and dedicated faculty, adoption of modern pedagogical practices, and continuous improvement in facilities. As a result, over the years it has produced alumni now working in diverse fields, thus establishing a “great alumni base” that adds to the prestige and trust in the school. Today, St. Michael’s Academy stands as one of the respected CBSE-affiliated senior secondary schools in West Champaran — blending academic standards, holistic growth, and a supportive learning environment, while continuously striving to nurture future-ready citizens.
